New opportunities for farmers in Pomorie: Support for modernization and sustainable business
Local Initiative Group (LAG) Pomorie plans to announce admissions under Measure 1: “Investments in agricultural holdings” in 2026. This measure is a key part of the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) Strategy and is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the local economy through innovation, digitalization and sustainable resource management.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants must have a permanent address or registered office on the territory of LAG Pomorie and be:
- Farmers: Natural or legal persons (registered under the Commercial Law, the Cooperatives Law, the Religions Law or the Agricultural Academy).
- Producer groups and organizations: Recognized under national or European legislation.
Important condition: All applicants must submit a sustainable and financially viable business plan that demonstrates the improvement of the farm’s activities.
What activities are supported?
The measure covers a wide range of investments aimed at modernisation and environmental sustainability:
- Activities on agricultural holdings related to the production of agricultural products included in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union or cotton, with the exception of fish and fishery products;
- Activities related to modernisation and mechanisation /investments in physical assets/, related to reducing production costs and increasing labour productivity;
- Activities directly related to improving the energy efficiency of farms;
- Activities for the storage of agricultural produce in order to preserve the quality of the produce;
- Activities aimed at protecting the environmental components for organic production and precision/smart/digital farming;
- Activities when related to social farming and/or those related to collective investments;
- Activities related to the acquisition of real estate related to the activity of agricultural holdings;
- Activities related to the establishment and/or replanting of perennial crops, dessert vineyards, honey-bearing tree species for honey production and fast-growing shrubs and tree species for bioenergy production;
- Activities related to the production of energy from renewable energy sources (hydro, wind, solar, geothermal energy and residual/waste biomass) for own consumption for the needs of agricultural holdings.
- Major agricultural investments when related to social farming and/or those related to collective investments.
- Installations for the production of energy from RES must not exceed a capacity of 1 megawatt and must comply with the sustainability conditions in the Renewable Energy Act.
“Main agricultural investments” – self-propelled equipment for soil cultivation, harvesting and/or storage of crops, growing of plant and livestock production – wheeled tractors, tracked tractors, specialized self-propelled machines (forage harvesters, grain harvesters, etc.) and other types of self-propelled machines with a power greater than 50 hp, including when they are used in livestock facilities. Attached equipment should not be treated as main agricultural investments.
Financial parameters
- Minimum amount of project costs: 15,338.75 euros
- Maximum amount of project costs: 153,387.56 euros
- Financial assistance: 50% of eligible costs.
- Maximum grant amount: EUR 76,693.79
Evaluation criteria
Projects are evaluated on a 100-point system, with the minimum passing score being 30 points. Priority will be given to: Experienced farmers: At least 24 months of activity (15 points).
- Specific profiles: Women or young entrepreneurs (15 points).
- Priority areas: Projects in the villages of Gaberovo, Dabnik and Laka (10 points).
- Sectoral focus: Livestock, fruit, vegetables or organic production (10 points each).
- Ecology and employment: Investments in renewable energy and creation of new jobs (10 points each).
What is NOT financed?
The purchase of machinery is inadmissible, unless they are directly related to social farming or collective investments.
Definition: “Social farming” includes activities such as rehabilitation, therapy and sheltered employment for people with disabilities, integrated into the agricultural environment.
This measure is an excellent chance for farmers in the region to modernize their farms, reduce their carbon footprint and become more competitive in the market.
